Treatments & Procedures
- What types of treatments does the clinic offer?
- The clinic offers a full range of dermatological and aesthetic treatments, including Botox, dermal fillers, HydraFacial, skin boosters, fractional laser resurfacing, Fotona laser for acne, laser hair removal, hair restoration treatments, spider vein laser, and more. A full list is available on our Facial and Body treatment pages.
- What is the difference between Botox and dermal fillers?
- Botox (botulinum toxin) relaxes specific muscles to soften dynamic expression lines, such as forehead lines, crow's feet, and frown lines. Dermal fillers use hyaluronic acid to restore lost volume and enhance contours in areas such as the cheeks, lips, chin, and jawline. Both are non-surgical and involve no downtime, but they address different concerns and are sometimes used together as part of a treatment plan.
- What is a skin booster, and how does it differ from a dermal filler?
- Skin boosters are injectable hyaluronic acid treatments designed to improve skin quality, hydration, texture, and radiance, from within, rather than adding volume. Unlike traditional fillers, they are distributed across a wider area to refresh the skin itself. They are a good option for patients who want a natural improvement in skin quality without any structural change.
- Do you treat acne?
- Yes. The clinic offers Fotona laser treatment as part of an acne management plan, targeting active breakouts and post-acne pigmentation. Dr. Wafaa also provides medical dermatology consultations for patients who may benefit from a prescription-based approach alongside or instead of laser treatment.
- What is the SCAR Protocol?
- The SCAR Protocol is a combined treatment that pairs fractional laser resurfacing with exosome therapy in a single session. It is designed for patients with deep or resistant acne scars where a combined approach may deliver better results than either treatment alone. The exosomes support recovery and enhance collagen regeneration alongside the laser's remodeling effect.
- Do you offer laser hair removal?
- Yes. The clinic offers laser hair removal for the underarm and bikini areas as a dedicated 6-session course, as well as a 3500-pulse package for patients who wish to treat multiple body areas in a single visit. Laser hair removal delivers progressive hair reduction across a course of sessions.
- Do you offer treatments for hair thinning or hair loss?
- Yes. The clinic offers two scalp treatments: the Hair Booster Protocol (a 4-session course delivering vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and growth factors to the scalp) and Hair Exosome treatment (2 sessions using exosomes to stimulate follicle activity). As hair loss has several possible causes, a consultation is recommended to assess suitability and determine the most appropriate approach.
- What is a HydraFacial?
- A HydraFacial is a multi-step facial treatment that cleanses, exfoliates, extracts impurities, and infuses the skin with targeted serums in a single session. It leaves skin looking cleaner, brighter, and more hydrated, with no downtime. The treatment is adaptable to individual skin concerns and is suitable for most skin types.
- Are dermal fillers reversible?
- Yes. Hyaluronic acid fillers, the type used at the clinic, can be dissolved using an enzyme called hyaluronidase if needed. This makes them a reversible treatment option, which is discussed during your consultation as part of an honest assessment of risks and expectations.
Booking & Consultations
- Is a consultation required before treatment?
- For most treatments, a consultation with Dr. Wafaa is the first step. This allows her to assess your skin, understand your concerns and goals, confirm suitability, and recommend a treatment plan. For some straightforward treatments, the consultation and treatment can take place in the same appointment, this is confirmed when you book.
- How do I book an appointment?
- You can book by contacting the clinic via WhatsApp or phone on +20 114 567 0999, or by using the online booking form on this website. We will confirm your appointment and provide any preparation instructions ahead of your visit.
- Do I need a referral to see Dr. Wafaa?
- No referral is needed. You can contact the clinic directly to arrange an appointment.
- Do you see patients from outside Maadi or outside Cairo?
- Yes. While the clinic is based in Maadi, Cairo, we regularly see patients travelling from other areas of Cairo and from other cities. Several patients visit specifically for treatments that are not widely available elsewhere. If you are travelling a distance, we will do our best to accommodate your schedule.
Results & Aftercare
- Is there downtime after treatments?
- Most treatments at the clinic involve little or no downtime. Injectable treatments such as Botox, fillers, and skin boosters may cause mild redness or swelling that typically resolves within 24–48 hours. Fractional laser resurfacing involves a longer recovery period with visible skin peeling, this is discussed in detail during your consultation so you can plan accordingly.
- How long do results last?
- This varies by treatment. Botox results typically last 3–6 months. Hyaluronic acid fillers last 9–18 months depending on the product and area treated. HydraFacial results are more gradual and maintenance sessions help sustain them. Fractional laser resurfacing delivers progressive results that continue to improve over several months. Dr. Wafaa will discuss expected timelines and maintenance during your consultation.
- Are the treatments painful?
- Most treatments are well tolerated. Injectable treatments use very fine needles, and topical anaesthetic cream is applied beforehand to minimise discomfort. Laser treatments may cause a warm or mild stinging sensation during the procedure. Dr. Wafaa takes care to ensure patients are comfortable throughout.
- Are the treatments safe?
- All treatments offered at the clinic are established medical and aesthetic procedures performed by a qualified dermatologist. As with any medical procedure, there are potential side effects and contraindications, these are discussed thoroughly during your consultation so you can make an informed decision before proceeding.
- Can I wear makeup after treatment?
- After injectable treatments, it is generally advisable to avoid applying makeup directly to the treated area for at least a few hours. After laser treatments, specific post-treatment skincare instructions will be provided. Tailored aftercare guidance is given at the time of your appointment.
